Alright, I know this is a huge thing in the adoptable community (or, well, the art community in general). I just want to say that, while I know for some my prices may be seen as overpriced, in most cases they are auction adoptables and thus people only pay what they're comfortable with (and whether that be $10 or $100+, please be respectful to the people who do choose to spend their money as they like).
I personally feel the art community is urged to underprice themselves. You don't have to agree with me, but that's what I've gathered from seeing artists over the years. But I'm going to talk about my art for this, specifically adoptables, so here's my breakdown: people are purchasing, not only character art, but the time it took to make as well as a character design. What that may be worth to one person may be worth something completely different to another, so I ask that you please respect that.
For auction prices going too high--I can't agree that there should be a point where someone says "that's enough" or should be expected to put in more art/etc. They are selling what is advertised, and the people bidding know this as well and bid accordingly. Why should artists have to be so modest when making an honest profit off of their work (and it is work, as well as a honed skill)? I think that mindset encourages the starving artist issue.
I'm not going to run around shouting "MY ART IS WORTH (HOWEVER AMOUNT) OF DOLLARS." I don't think anything is that clear cut. What may be worth a bunch of money to one person is worth absolutely nothing to someone else, and that's fine. But that doesn't mean it needs to be brought up each time--I find it disrespectful toward the people who are willing to pay for whatever that something may be to have people frequently saying to them that they basically don't know how to spend their own money. I am not here to change your world view so you are free to think whatever and whichever is overpriced, overrated, etc etc--I just ask that you don't bring down my or anyone else's customers and myself/any other artists (you can always send me a note if you'd like to discuss anything!).
Of course, if someone officially puts out a notice of the exact expected worth of different kinds of art, feel free to show me and I'll put my foot in my mouth. But for now, artists are running off no comparison. This isn't bring an ad from a different store to your nearest Walmart for the exact item at a lower price to get an automatic markdown to the listed price--this is art. Each individual piece is different and the "worth" is not clear cut.
And for artists that wish for their art to sell more: you'll get there! Just keep on practicing and putting yourself out there. People aren't just born with skill, nor are they born with watchers/people interested to buy their products. It may take some time but as long as you're dedicated you will get to where you want to be; and as long as you do it honestly, you'll have earned every bit of what you get!
I'm sorry if that was a bit scattered, but that's how my mind is at the moment. I may look over this later and write it out a bit more clearly skmgl. Thank you for taking the time to read this!

A B O U T
This is an old story.
No one is certain why or how the Earth chooses which lives are to be reborn. Fyelts are born from the Earth and the mortal bodies that become one with it, given life through their past self's death.
Born from the Earth, Fyelts exhibit plant-like features. They are strongly connected to the world around them and one another, often displaying this connection through music.
TL;DR
Plant people dripping in fairy tale with grand musical tendencies.
Follow the lore as you like!
